Virtual COMX

Developed by: UoG Research Students

The University of Gloucestershire’s Creative Computing degree, COMX, usually takes place in June to promote the hard work of students over the course of the academic year, showcasing work from the Advanced Group Project module amongst other things.

This year we’ve had to move to a virtual setting, developing a bespoke 3D environment to mimic a real COMX convention. The environment includes lots of interactable objects including business cards, AI lecturers and TV screens where you can view a team’s project trailer.

Super Campus Quest

Developed by: UoG Research Students

This game was developed by our students on Computer Games Design and Computer Games Programming courses to demonstrate their programming, art, design and team working capabilities in building a fun educational game. The game was built in Unity and C#. The idea of the game is that applicants to our courses, who do not know the campus, can use the game to explore the main facilities we offer at the Park Campus, Cheltenham.

Treadquest

Developed by: Matt Mason, Kai Ismay, Joe Dodds, Toby Monks, Minha Khalid, Ruth Peach

Treadquest is a virtual reality physiotherapy game, to assist patients with cerebral palsy during their physiotherapy sessions. The game is work in progress, but we’ve got an endless forest, bug catching and color mixing as well as environmental speed linked to the treadmells 0.1 MPH setting that is used during the therapies.
